While now to get your creative juices running, let’s take a look at the 10 ways to use Adobe Illustrator to improve your blog & biz!
While programs like Photoshop work with pixel images, Adobe Illustrator creates vector graphics (which are created with mathematical logarithms). Unlike pixel images, vector graphics can be sized to infinitely large proportions, which are ideal for creating logos.
Illustrator also makes it easy to manipulate text, change colors, add illustrations, and stick to a grid – all of which are important for creating a strong logo. It has various vectorized brushes, as well as other tools to create that professional, high quality graphic. You can also invent brushes and patterns, as well as save color palettes of which I’ll be talking more down below!
Keep in mind that I also offer custom logo design services which include the color & typography palettes created with this ever amazing software!
What I love the most about the Illustrator when it comes to typography, that it’s super easy to put the actual text into graphic by using The Type On A Path tool which changes paths to type paths, and lets you enter and edit type on them. You don’t need to use the vertical or horizontal type if the graphic is usually round or other unique shape. And that my friend saves up your time as well as helps you to accomplish the perfect angle without disordering the actual font!
3. TEXT STYLIZING
I know that Photoshop does have these options, but being honest – not all of them! And that’s why I love Illustrator even more when it comes to typography! You can easily add various kind of effects to your text and stylize it the way you want, the way it will look more original and unique!
4. SHAPES & OBJECTS
When it comes to actual shapes, objects and graphics – illustrator is a pure gem and real game changer! My all time favorite would always be a Curvature Tool tho there’s way more than that! The pen, anchor, line segment, arc, spiral, rectangular, polar grip, rounded, smooth, sharpen, perspective grid, etc tools are crucial when you again – need to save time and create something super unique and professional! Tho you can add those unique shapes and objects into galleries and save them for later, so you will be able to use it many times!
5. BLOG POST GRAPHICS
It’s an awesome way to set your blog apart and make it stand out in the market by creating one-of-a-kind blog post & social media graphics! And here Illustrator is a great companion indeed! You can create those graphics by having many artboards in one place which helps you to maintain the aesthetics, color palette and the whole identity, as well as creating the templates which will save your time in a long run! These graphics are very high quality as well as professional and that is more than just a pretty graphic – it’s eye-catching and original! They’re also much more shareable and have the potential to reach a wider audience.
If you’re not sure whether you do really need those, or how to get started – get in touch! I’d love to help as well as to offer my services!
Custom patterns can be created within Illustrator with the help of the grid, ruler, and brush tools. These can be used on your website, on custom forms, on business cards – again, the possibilities are endless. If you’re thinking about the professional, badass brand identity – then patterns are a must. These are the ones that makes your visual part of the branding to stand out!
And that I actually can offer to anyone who’s into growing big and being one-of-a-kind. My custom brand design services includes patterns in the visual brand’s identity palette!
7. PHOTO CROPPING & CLIPPING MASKS
Although Photoshop has more photo editing capabilities, Illustrator does allow you to make a clipping mask which crops images down to different shapes and sizes. I love playing with various shapes when it comes to image cropping, and this way I’ve learn that Illustrator is the quickest way! Tho clipping masks can also be used for creating various textured shapes as well as putting a texture into type!
8. PRINTABLES, BROCHURES, CONTRACTS, TIMELINES, ETC
As I said – I use Adobe Illustrator for anything and everything and so it’s a perfect software when it comes to printables, brochures, contracts, timelines, planners, greeting cards, notecards, invitations, presentation slides, gift cards, certificates & coupons, stickers, handouts & worksheets, business cards, media kits, you name it! I cannot tell enough about the pros of the Adobe Illustrator. Tho what I love the most that I always feel safe whatever I’m creating, cause I know that it will definitely be high quality as well as editable with various other softwares!
9. WEB ICONS & INFOGRAPHICS
Annnd that’s my favorite part! I love creating infographics and various web icons and here Illustrator is a pure gem as the software itself has to offer many icons which you can later stylize and edit however you want, and make them unique! I enjoy working on those as it’s super easy and fast!
10. FILE SAVING
Have you ever came across a situation where you need your logo in a different file format or size so it could be edited with other softwares like Photoshop, or even Adobe Acrobat DC? Well here Adobe Illustrator makes it easy to save different file types and adjust the settings based on whether the final product will appear online or in print material. It’s super easy when you need to make some particular notes on files and designs which you send to your clients, cause if you save the file in PDF they are able to edit and put the quick notes with the help of Adobe Acrobat DC. I mean, I cannot express my all love to Adobe softwares and Illustrator particularly. It’s a heaven to work with!
In fact, using the Adobe Illustrator the possibilities are endless. There are way more amazing things that you can create within help of this software! I haven’t mentioned social media graphics such as cover images, profile pictures, promotional graphics, inspiration and moodboards, email signatures, media kits, social media icons, stamps & stickers, stock image customizations, event badges, shop banners, sketches & letterings, packaging labels, illustrations themselves, vendor guides, favicons, postcards & mailers, mockups, pricing guides, resumes, etc. I haven’t created all of those myself, but so far I found that Adobe Illustrator is irreplaceable… I do use Photoshop and InDesign, tho these are used really rare comparing to Illustrator. So if you’d ever consider investing into software for design projects – that’s the one! You can also let me know in comments below what other questions do you have regarding Adobe Illustrator.
